As part of the plan, the company will open new branded shop-in-shops in Liverpool department stores across Mexico beginning in Summer 2013.
The retailer’s first standalone store is scheduled to open in Sante Fe Mall in Mexico City in Summer 2013.
Aeropostale chief executive officer Thomas Johnson said the company considers Mexico a pivotal market as it looks at its overall global expansion strategy
"We look forward to working with such an established partner to expand the Aeropostale brand into this key market," Johnson added
Liverpool commercial director Graciano Guichard Gonzalez said, "The Aeropostale brand is a proven cornerstone of the teen apparel market, and we look forward to bringing Aeropostale to Mexico through our vast portfolio of department stores, as well as standalone locations, over the next few years."
Aeropostale currently operates 898 Aeropostale stores in 50 states and Puerto Rico, 78 Aeropostale stores in Canada and 132 PS from Aeropostale stores in 28 states and Puerto Rico.
