Apparel maker Canada Goose plans to open its first two standalone stores this year in Toronto, Canada, and New York City, US.

Opening in October, the Toronto store will be located at Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

The New York store will open at Wooster Street in November.

"It’s an exciting new chapter in our evolution from a small outerwear manufacturer nearly 60 years ago, to the only truly global, Canadian luxury apparel retailer."

Both stores will offer more than 4,000ft² of retail space and an array of seasonal collection.

Canada Goose president & CEO Dani Reiss said: "It’s an exciting new chapter in our evolution from a small outerwear manufacturer nearly 60 years ago, to the only truly global, Canadian luxury apparel retailer.

"There’s no other brand like Canada Goose and that’s something people will feel as soon as they step into our stores.

"This is our opportunity to bring more of Canada, and Canada Goose, to the world."

The company’s products are sold in 50 countries through authorised retailers.

It is majority owned by Bain Capital, and employs more than 1,000 people worldwide.

Canada Goose’s revenues have surged by more than 400% since 2011. Last year, it opened two facilities at Toronto and Winnipeg.
