Motif FoodWorks, a food technology company specialising in plant-based foods, has announced a partnership with Foxtrot, a Chicago-based convenience store and café chain.

As part of this collaboration, Foxtrot will feature Motif’s alternative beef product in premade meals across their 30 locations.

The company is known for its modern convenience offerings, including chef-prepared meals, premium groceries, wine and spirits, snacks, sweets, and personal care items.

Initially, Foxtrot signed an agreement with Motif for a limited-time offering but has now extended the partnership, making Motif’s plant-based beef product a recurring item on their menus.

One notable addition to Foxtrot’s menu is the Vegan Taco Salad, which features Motif BeefWorks Plant-Based Beef Grounds served on romaine lettuce with roasted corn, tomatoes, jalapeño, onion, cilantro, and a lime vinaigrette.

This dish is available for pickup or delivery at all Foxtrot locations.

Culinary enhancement of motif’s plant-based product

Justin Schaub, Senior Director of Culinary at Foxtrot Market, commended Motif’s plant-based beef product for its deep savoury flavour, which is often lacking in most alternative proteins.

He noted that the product’s cooking characteristics closely resembled animal-based proteins, making it versatile for various culinary applications, including burger-making.

Motif FoodWorks addresses growing demand for plant-based foods

Motif FoodWorks CEO, Michael Leonard, acknowledged the increasing consumer interest in plant-based foods, with 88% of consumers anticipating maintaining or increasing their consumption.

Leonard emphasised the company’s commitment to creating products that cater to this demand while offering an enhanced taste experience.

Collaborations with partners like Foxtrot align with Motif’s mission to provide better-tasting, plant-based options to meet consumer expectations.

The partnership between Motif FoodWorks and Foxtrot represents an expansion in plant-based meal options available to consumers. This reflects the rising popularity of sustainable and flavourful alternatives in the food industry.

As the collaboration continues, it remains to be seen how Motif and Foxtrot will further diversify their plant-based offerings in response to evolving consumer preferences.
