UK supermarket chain Morrisons has expanded its grocery-delivery partnership with food delivery platform Uber Eats.

The retailer will add more than 400 of its supermarkets to the Uber Eats platform, allowing customers to order thousands of items exclusively through Uber Eats’ technology and promising an average delivery time of under 30 minutes.

Customers will have access to everyday essentials, Market Street fresh favourites and selections from The Best range.

Many items have been price-matched to ensure consistency with in-store costs.

The expansion builds on a pre-existing collaboration with Morrisons Daily convenience stores and follows Uber Eats’ report of a significant increase in grocery orders since 2022.

The number of people who have placed a grocery order on Uber Eats in the UK has increased by almost 50%.

Morrisons online director Charlotte Exell said: “We’re delighted to be offering customers another fast and convenient way to get Morrisons groceries delivered straight to their door by expanding our successful partnership with Uber. We’re committed to offering our customers great value high-quality products, however they choose to shop with us.”

Uber Eats grocery and retail business head for Europe, Middle East and Africa Alex Troughton said: “Building on this partnership means customers who use our platform will have even more choice when ordering with us, with delivery in as little as 20 minutes, all at the touch of a button.”

This announcement comes after Morrisons revealed its plans in August 2024 to extend its partnership with Deliveroo to 500 Morrisons Daily stores.

In July, the retailer expanded its existing collaboration with Just Eat by offering on-demand grocery delivery from 380 supermarkets across the UK.
