South Korean retailer Lotte has unveiled Lotte-Mart Zetta, its new online grocery app powered by the Ocado Smart Platform (OSP).
The launch is a result of ongoing collaborative efforts between Ocado Group and Lotte which began in November 2022.
Ocado’s OSP is an end-to-end e-commerce, fulfilment and logistics solution designed for online grocery retailers.
The solution leverages developments in AI, robotics and automation to foster operational excellence and superior customer experiences.
Lotte Mart and Super CEO Kang Sung-hyun stated: “Through synergy between Lotte Mart’s Grocery competitiveness and Ocado’s cutting-edge technology, we will establish ourselves as a core brand with an overwhelming advantage in the domestic online food market and be reborn as the number one on and offline grocery market.”
Ocado Group and Lotte plan to establish a network of six automated customer fulfilment centres (CFCs) across South Korea, and to integrate Ocado’s AI-driven in-store fulfilment solutions within Lotte’s retail outlets.
The inaugural CFC will commence operations in the Busan region by early 2026.
This site, along with subsequent ones, will be outfitted with Ocado’s state-of-the-art Re:Imagined automation technology.
Ocado Solutions Asia Pacific president Adriano Araujo stated: “This is a big milestone for our partnership with Lotte. South Korea is one of the most dynamic online grocery markets in the world, and we are excited for Lotte customers to experience an Ocado-powered quality of service for the first time. Lotte is a leader in the South Korean grocery market and an amazing partner. With the platform now live and our first CFC due to launch in early 2026, we are well underway in our ambition for them to become the leading online grocer in the market.”
In April 2024, Auchan Retail Poland announced it is now live with the OSP.
