Lidl GB, which is part of the Schwarz retail group, is set to pilot its new a Click, Reserve & Collect service that will allow customers to reserve products in advance through the Lidl Plus app.

The service will enable Lidl Plus users to secure “middle of Lidl” items up to two weeks before they hit the store shelves.

From 7 April 2025, customers can use the app to reserve products such as the Parkside robot lawnmower. The reserved items will be available for collection between 16 and 19 April, before becoming available in stores on 24 April.

Lidl GB chief customer officer Jassine Ouali stated: “We’re always exploring bold new ways to enhance our customers’ shopping experience and are pleased to be in a position where we can bring this latest trial to life.

“We know how popular our ‘Middle of Lidl’ deals are, and this trial will give our Lidl Plus customers the chance to secure a must-have item before it hits the shelves. We can’t wait to see how our customers respond.”

The initiative marks another step in the evolution of the app since its 2020 debut.

The app has amassed more than 100 million global users.

In early 2025, Lidl GB also revealed plans to sell products through TikTok Shop across the UK, focusing on high protein bundles catered to fitness enthusiasts.

Lidl also reported a nearly 7% increase in holiday sales for the 2024 season compared to the previous year, attracting more than two million new customers.

Since its establishment in Great Britain in 1994, Lidl GB has now more than 35,000 employees and more than 970 stores supported by 14 distribution centres across England, Scotland and Wales.

The company’s global presence includes 375,000 employees with more than 12,350 stores and more than 225 logistics centres across 31 countries.
