German supermarket chain Lidl is reportedly planning to open a new store on 13 February in Essex, UK.
The 1,212m² store will be located on Christopher Martin Road in Mayflower Retail Park, Basildon.
The new location will feature an in-store bakery, longer-style tills with dual packing, along with other amenities such as baby changing and parking spaces.
The store is being built by construction firm Adston and has generated up to 40 new jobs. It is in line with the company’s strategy to continue its expansion and regeneration.
During the first week of the opening, the store will be offering exclusive deals, including some products to win for the guests.
Lidl GB Property regional head Andrew Hodgkinson was quoted by EssexLive as saying: “It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community.”
