Lidl GB is set to make history as the first supermarket chain to sell its products via the TikTok Shop platform for customers across the UK.
The move will see the introduction of specialised High Protein bundles, aimed at supporting British consumers to achieve their fitness objectives.
The retailer will offer an exclusive range of high protein products through their @LidlGB TikTok account from 20 February 2024.
Shoppers purchase one of the 3,000 exclusive High Protein Bundles, valued at over £30, for £5.
The bundles, only available through the @Lidl TikTok Shop, will feature protein-rich items such as IronMaxx 100% Whey Protein, Snacktastic High Protein Pop Chips, Belbake Protein Pancake Mix, Crownfield High Protein Flapjacks and Maribel High Protein Peanut Butter.
Lidl GB marketing director Joanna Gomer stated: “Our high protein range is a firm fan favourite with more than 150 high-protein products sold in our stores every minute and our customers across the country taking to social media to share their hauls each week.
“With the number of TikTok shoppers growing rapidly, we’re proud to be the first supermarket meeting our customers directly on the platform with our unique offering, creating these exclusive bundles to showcase our new exciting products.”
As an added bonus for this event, Lidl GB is offering Lidl Plus coupons within the bundle, giving 25% discount on its chilled high protein range in-store.
These coupons are redeemable until 5 March 2025 and apply to items such as High Protein Puddings and Mousses.
The initiative is innovative and charitable, with all proceeds from this pop-up event being donated to children’s charity the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children).
Lidl GB noted that this initiative is not indicative of a broader or enduring e-commerce strategy but a focused effort to promote the newly extended range of high-protein offerings.
In January 2025, it reported that its sales for the 2024 holiday season grew by almost 7% compared to the previous year, as more than two million additional customers frequented its stores.
