Department store retail chain Kohl’s has revealed plans to reopen stores in ten US states on 11 May amid coronavirus pandemic.
The announcement follows after the company reopened stores in four states, including Arkansas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Utah, earlier this week.

The latest round of re-openings will take place in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Mississippi, Montana, and Texas. Most of its stores in Florida and Tennessee will also follow suit.
In March this year, the retailer extended the temporary store closures until further notice in support of the fight against the spread of Covid-19.
The company will continue to evaluate various factors such as the government guidance, health data, readiness of its stores, and consumer sentiment.
Kohl’s chief executive officer Michelle Gass said: “As we all adjust to a new normal, we will continue to provide the easy and efficient store experience that Kohl’s customers love, while implementing many new rigorous procedures that prioritise the safety of our associates and customers.
“We are taking an informed, measured approach based on a number of factors to reopen our stores on a phased timeline, with about 25% of our stores open by next week.
“As we reopen and operate in a new environment, I want to thank our associates and customers for their ongoing loyalty and support. We’re thrilled to have you back.”
In February this year, the company decided to axe 250 jobs as part of its restructuring programme.
