UK-based retailer John Lewis has extended its same-day delivery services to more cities in the UK.

The service, which was launched in London in August 2022, is now available to customers in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.

Orders made online by 10AM will be delivered between 7PM and 10PM the same evening.

Deliveries will be fulfilled by fully electric vehicles operated by carrier company Stuart for a fee of £9.95 ($12.75) per delivery.

In addition to same-day delivery, John Lewis is extending its Click & Collect network by launching 72 new outlets in Dobbies Garden Centres, taking its total collection points to 5,700.

The retailer also made its Deliver to Yodel Store service free for orders above £30.

Furthermore, John Lewis resumed deliveries of larger items in Northern Ireland after halting it for more than two years. The company will now deliver items such as large electrical appliances and furniture.

John Lewis customer fulfilment operations head Eva Cullen said: “We always want to improve the service for our customers and there’s been a real appetite for same-day deliveries. With customers using it for purchases of everything from bed sheets to toothbrushes – we are confident this service could have even more potential in the future.

“We know that our Click & Collect service offers real convenience to our customers so we are delighted to be Partnering with Dobbies Garden Centres to launch 72 new locations.”

In May 2022, John Lewis partnered with Internet Matters to offer specialised advice to families regarding internet safety.
