US-based discount supermarket chain Grocery Outlet has partnered with online grocery platform Instacart to make its debut in the online grocery market.
As part of a pilot programme, Grocery Outlet will offer same-day deliveries from 68 stores in California.

By GlobalDataDuring the six-month trial period, customers will be able to order daily essentials and staples products from the company’s owned and operated stores via Instacart.

“Customers can now have Grocery Outlet’s unparalleled selection of affordable groceries and pantry staples delivered from the store to their door in as fast as an hour.
“We’re proud to unlock this new e-commerce solution for Grocery Outlet and create even more ways for their customers to save no matter how they choose to shop.”
Based in Emeryville, California, Grocery Outlet operates a network of more than 400 independently operated stores across the US.
Instacart serves as a retail enablement platform and has so far partnered with more than 600 national, regional and local retailers.
In July, the company partnered with wholesale club Costco to offer same-day deliveries from 76 Costco warehouses across Canada.
