By GlobalDataTo use the service, customers can visit the Giant Food website, select the place order option, choose a pick-up window and select same-day pick-up or next-day service options based on their convenience.
Once the order is placed, Giant Food associates will hand-select and pack the orders, and load them into customers’ vehicles.
The retailer has also assigned Giant Pickup lanes at participating stores enabling customers to park their vehicles while they wait for their order.
Customers can shop for a range of items, including local brands and organic selections through the service at everyday store prices.
Giant Food president Gordon Reid said: “Our new Giant Pickup service is a great option for busy shoppers who can plan ahead and pick up all their groceries without ever leaving the car.
“Whether on the way home from work, heading to a summer BBQ or just getting the weekly grocery shopping done all that much faster, this really is all about giving our shoppers tools to let them shop however they prefer.
“We’re proud to offer this service to help customers save time so they can get back to what matters most.”
The retailer is also offering same-day Giant Pickup service on a minimum order value of $30 with a $2.95 delivery fee. It is also providing free pick-up on the first order for new customers.
In January this year, Giant Food unveiled a new store concept, Giant Heirloom Market, with a focus on urban neighbourhoods.
