Line-free mobile checkout and service counter solutions provider FutureProof Retail (FPR) has established a partnership with cooperative food wholesaler Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG).
Under this partnership, FPR will offer its mobile self-scanning checkout and counter service solutions to AWG member retailers.
With this solution, customers can scan and bag products, as well as pay using their smartphones.
Additionally, prepared food or deli items can be pre-ordered at in-store service counters and customers can pick up their order when ready.
AWG sales and solutions vice-president Stacy Bowen said: “FutureProof Retail’s self-scanning solution helps our members compete favourably in all markets served because it allows independent supermarkets to eliminate wait times at checkout and service counters, and it also enables social distancing in stores.
“It provides all required features out of the box and is easy to adapt and integrate into the existing store systems and processes.”

By GlobalDataDue to the National State of Emergency, FutureProof Retail is offering its line-free checkout solution to grocery stores and supermarkets for free.
The solution is already implemented by an AWG member, McKeever’s Enterprises.
FutureProof Retail president Di Di Chan said: “Being part of AWG’s Retail Systems portfolio combined with our free service offer makes it easy for AWG members to enter frictionless shopping without a huge upfront investment.”
In September last year, FPR partnered with point-of-sale system (POS) solutions provider IT Retail to offer grocery store self-checkout.
