Japanese global retail chain Daiso is set to enhance its US presence with the opening of three new stores on 10 August 2024 – two in California and one in Texas.

California’s Westminster Centre will gain a new Daiso store covering 5,200ft², while the Mid Valley Marketplace in Van Nuys will see the opening of a 6,318ft² location.

Both California stores will offer Japanese-inspired home decor, stationery and food items.

Daiso USA chief development officer John Clarke said: “California-based Daiso customers have shown us through our online business and social media their desire for us to have more stores within the state, influencing our immediate growth strategy in this region. We currently operate 141 units in eight states with more states opening in 2024.”

In Texas, the retailer will open a new 8,000ft² store in Dowlen Towne Centre.

Clarke stated: “Texas-based Daiso customers have shown us through our online business and social media their desire for us to have more stores within the state, influencing our immediate growth strategy in this region. We currently operate 141 units in eight states with more states opening in 2024.”
