British co-operative group Co-op is expanding its reach with a new convenience store in East Benton, North Tyneside, England, spearheading convenience and community growth.
Situated on Moor Drive within a newly developed residential area, the store launch aligns with Co-op’s plans to enhance its convenience store portfolio, aiming to establish up to 75 new locations during the year.
The expansion will include both Co-op estate stores and franchise operations, alongside plans for substantial refurbishments of 80 existing stores in 2025.
The East Benton location offers fresh produce, meal deals, food-to-go options, Fairtrade items, an in-store bakery and award-winning wines.
In support of British agriculture, all fresh meat sold at the store — including that used in ready meals, pies and sandwiches — is sourced from UK farmers.
The new facility includes customer parking with an electric vehicle charging station. Additional services encompass a Costa Coffee Express outlet, payment processing via PayPoint, and parcel collection and returns facilitated through an InPost locker system.
