Certas Energy, a fuel supplier to the UK’s independent forecourts, has appointed Spar UK as convenience partner across 35 of its petrol filling stations.
The agreement, which includes wholesale distribution, is effective immediately. In-store refurbishments and rebranding will be carried out over the next few months, and will allow Certas Energy to strengthen the in-store experience for customers and boost revenue.
Certas Energy retail director Richard Billington said: “The forecourt shop has an increasingly important role within any local community and working with the UK’s leading symbol group will ensure that we are able to maximise the potential across all of our retail assets.”
Certas Energy is claimed to be the largest independent distributors of fuel and lubricants in the UK. The company delivers more than 6 billion litres of oil to customers across Britain every year.
Spar UK retail director Ian Taylor said: “We are delighted that a business, as dynamic as Certas Energy, has chosen to build its future with us.
“Our businesses have great synergy; we are both committed to developing our UK forecourt operations and believe that a successful business that allows a customer to grow and prosper is best achieved by a collaborative partnership approach.
