Online retailer Amazon is planning to establish a new fulfilment centre in Leduc County, Alberta, Canada, which will create over 600 full-time jobs.

The new facility marks the second in Alberta and the 11th for the company in Canada. Amazon has fulfilment centres in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.

In August this year, Canadian real estate and construction company Broccolini commenced construction of build-to-suit distribution centre for Amazon in Ottawa after receiving approval from the city council.

The opening of the Ottawa distribution centre is scheduled for mid-next year and will employ more than 650 once the facility is operational.

Amazon currently operates corporate offices in Vancouver, Toronto, and Ottawa. It employs more than 7,000 people across the country.
