European e-grocery retailer Knuspr has teamed up with Amazon.de, the German business of e-commerce major Amazon, to offer e-grocery delivery services in Germany.

The service, initially launching in capital Berlin, will offer Amazon Prime members access to a range of products and rapid delivery through Knuspr’s advanced fulfilment technology.

The ‘Knuspr on Amazon’ service is set to provide Prime members in the Berlin metropolitan area with a selection of more than 15,000 items.

The assortment includes everyday groceries, drugstore products, and locally sourced goods from hundreds of farmers and producers.

The partners plan to expand the service to the Munich metropolitan area and the Rhine-Main region.

Amazon Grocery International vice-president Ganesh Rao said: “We are excited to offer Knuspr grocery deliveries to our Prime members in Germany. Knuspr offers a broad, regionally focused assortment, and fast, flexible deliveries and this partnership reinforces our commitment to bringing together low prices, vast selection, fast delivery options that Amazon customers know and love.”

The partnership is built upon Knuspr parent Rohlik Group’s robust growth across Europe.

It expands the retailer’s presence and strengthens its position in the rapidly growing e-food sector in Germany.

With more than one million monthly orders, Rohlik is on track to surpass €1bn ($1.07bn) in revenue by the end of 2024.

Rohlik Group founder and CEO Tomas Cupr said: “This partnership gives Prime members access to our broad and unique assortment, saving them time while ensuring convenience and quality.

“While Knuspr.de will continue to serve customers directly, this collaboration aims to expand Rohlik´s reach and reinforces its position in the German market.”

In August this year, Amazon opened a new micromobility hub in Berlin, marking a significant expansion of its e-cargo bike delivery service.
