Online fashion brand In The Style has been saved from the brink of collapse by Alps Sourcing in a pre-pack deal that saves 87 jobs in the UK.

Based in Manchester, In The Style is known for translating celebrity fashion trends into affordable high street offerings.

The company was listed on AIM, a sub-market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in 2021, after which its market valuation rose to £105m.

But the brand faced a downturn that led to its delisting and a near-miss with administration before Baaj Capital intervened in 2023.

Baaj Capital integrated its facility into the new ownership structure as part of the transaction.

Despite this intervention, the retailer continued to struggle under the weight of increasing costs and economic turbulence, prompting the initiation of formal insolvency proceedings.

The sale to Alps Sourcing was orchestrated by Marco Piacquadio and Alan Coleman from the boutique insolvency practice FTS Recovery, who took on administrative roles on 10 March 2025.

FTS Recovery director Marco Piacquadio highlighted that the company’s balance sheet had been burdened by substantial debt for an extended period, leading to cash flow difficulties and strained supplier relationships.

Piacquadio stated: “Since being brought in to help, our focus has been to seek to rescue as many elements of the business as possible. It is always difficult trying to achieve a rescue against the backdrop of a relatively high-profile matter, particularly where elements of the brand and goodwill are under daily scrutiny.

“We are really pleased to have secured this outcome and to have rescued so many jobs. It is hoped that this rescue will allow the new owners the platform to work again with key stakeholders in the future. This sale marks a turning point in the company’s fortunes and an opportunity to return it to a position of profitability and financial stability.”
