American grocery retailer Albertsons has entered into a partnership with online delivery platform GrubHub to offer delivery services from 1,800 Albertsons Cos stores.
The collaboration will see Albertsons bring its ACME, Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Safeway, Shaw’s, Tom Thumb and Vons store banners to Grubhub’s marketplace for delivery.
The availability of delivery services will vary from location to location. This can be checked by customers via the Grocery section on the Grubhub website and mobile application.
Grubhub vice-president Craig Whitmer said: “We are pleased to grow our grocery offering with Albertsons Cos, one of the leading grocery retailers in the US, and allow customers to conveniently place their grocery orders within Grubhub.
“Through this exciting partnership, we are giving consumers more choices while maximising value so that they find exactly what they need on Grubhub delivered right to their door.”
Customers will also have access to the Albertsons Cos banner stores via its loyalty programme, Grubhub+.

Albertsons Cos business development and digital innovation vice-president Amber Kappa said: “At Albertsons Cos, we are committed to providing customers with convenience, choice and variety.
“With our latest collaboration with Grubhub, shoppers can receive fresh produce, household essentials and regional favourites directly from our stores to their homes with a simple tap on Grubhub.”
The latest move with Albertsons is Grubhub’s first national grocery collaboration after its alliance with Mercato, a marketplace dedicated for independent grocers.
Grubhub’s recent partnerships with grocery retailers are in line with the online delivery platform’s efforts to grow its product offerings and include additional grocery and convenience partners, while expanding merchant menu capabilities to support a wide range of images and items.
In February 2022, Albertsons partnered with DoorDash to launch an express grocery delivery service across 20 US cities.
