Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Office and Administrative Support Occupations, which accounted for 15% of the total new job postings in Q2 2024 and were up by 268% year-on-year. Second highest were Management Occupations, which accounted for 12% and rise by 116% year-on-year, and third highest were Sales and Related Occupations, which were 7% of the new job postings and 61% higher year-on-year.

Top five companies in retail industry accounted for 95% of hiring activity

The highest number of jobs were posted by Woolworths Group with 46,510, followed by Coles Group with 3,169, while the highest increase was at Wesfarmers at 7%.
