Sales and Related Occupations drive customer loyalty-related hiring activity
Sales and Related Occupations, with a share of 35%, emerged as the top customer loyalty-related job roles within the retail industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings rising by 11% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 7% in Q2 2024, with new job postings rising by 6% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent customer loyalty roles include Personal Care and Service Occupations with a 7% share in Q2 2024, Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in retail industry accounted for 43% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were TJX, Ulta Beauty, Woolworths Group, Macy's, and CVS Health. Together they accounted for a combined share of 43% of all customer loyalty-related new jobs in the retail industry.
TJX posted 12,917 customer loyalty-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Ulta Beauty 8,444 jobs, Woolworths Group 8,311 jobs, Macy's 6,790 jobs, and CVS Health 6,437 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with an 80.23% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024
The largest share of customer loyalty-related new job postings in the retail industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 80.23% followed by Australia (7.62%) and Canada (7.30%). The share represented by the US was one percentage point higher than the 79.56% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
