Notably, ecommerce was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q2 2024, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of edtech and digitalization, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the retail industry, Walmart had the greatest increase in references for ecommerce in Q2 2024, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 32 ecommerce-related sentences in the company's filings - 3% of all sentences - and a decrease of 50% in Q2 2024 compared with Q2 2023. Skechers USA’s mentions of ecommerce dropped by 46% to 31 and eBay’s by 61% to 29 and Amazon’s by 34% to 19 and Chewy’s by 200% to 15.
