US-based supermarket chain Food Lion has announced a $365m investment to remodel 167 stores in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and Mecklenburg County, Virginia.
The remodels are part of an effort to enhance the shopping experience for customers.
On 21 August, the omnichannel retailer will celebrate the completion of these upgrades with ribbon-cutting events at the stores in its Raleigh-Durham market.
The investment aims to provide an easier and more affordable shopping experience, with a focus on a variety of meal solutions that cater to different needs.
These include ready-to-cook, ready-to-eat, and ready-to-heat options, along with an extensive product assortment of fresh produce and quality meats.
The remodels are informed by customer and associate feedback, introducing self-checkout lanes to offer an efficient shopping experience, alongside traditional cashier-assisted options.
