SPAR Denmark has launched two new supermarkets, increasing its store network in the Danish retail market.
The retailer opened a SPAR supermarket on Kamma Klitgårds Gade, Skejby in the Risskov area, on 4 May 2024.
The store is coowned by Peter Stausholm and David Jørgensen.
Director of SPAR’s parent company Dagrofa, Esben Keller, said: “We at SPAR are very pleased that Peter Stausholm and David Jørgensen have taken on the challenge of running another SPAR store. I have no doubt that they are the right people for the job.”
SPAR Denmark also opened another supermarket on 30 May in a historic building in Søllerød, following extensive interior renovation.
It is operated by Ali Feili, a retailer from SPAR Denmark’s parent company Dagrofa.

By GlobalDataAli Feili said: “I am very much looking forward to opening a SPAR Supermarket in Søllerød.
“As we worked on the planning and interior design, I had the opportunity to watch the craftsmen at work.”
These new openings increase the total number of SPAR stores in Denmark to 138.
The new store openings coincide with its 70th anniversary in the country.
SPAR Denmark plans to commemorate its anniversary with special offers and local events across the country.
The brand’s journey began in 1954 with a 16m² store in Hjerting.
The expansion follows Dagrofa’s acquisition of eight stores from a withdrawing retail chain. Seven of these stories will transition to the SPAR brand.
In early 2024 new SPAR stores were also opened in Blistrup and Svenstrup.
