Bullring & Grand Central, the apex of Birmingham’s urban retail landscape, is welcoming new expansions from retailers including Zara, Clarks and Swatch.
Owned by property developer Hammerson, Bullring & Grand Central is the UK’s sixth biggest shopping centre at 163,000m².
International fashion brand Zara, operated by Inditex, will take the top floor in a move that completes the repurposing of the former Debenhams location.
This is alongside an adjacent two-storey unit on the upper level, creating more than 51,000ft² of shopping space that will significantly elevate Zara’s presence in Birmingham.
The renewed commitment follows the opening of Inditex brands Bershka and Pull&Bear – in a regional first – at the Bullring in 2023.
Swiss watch brand Swatch is launching its debut standalone store in Birmingham. Located on Link Street, the 800ft² store will feature 500 different watches.

Late 2023 saw M&S unveil a 65,000ft² store in the shopping centre, situated below the new Zara space.
Hammerson director of asset management Toby Tait commented: “The strategic repositioning of Bullring & Grand Central has seen us introduce key brands, new concepts and events to the destination. As a result, we have driven footfall and sales for our occupiers year-on-year and continue to attract best-in-class brands as partners.”
