Prominent Middle East-based shopping centre and leisure company, Majid Al Futtaim, has announced its involvement as an Associate Pathway Partner in the upcoming 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) scheduled to take place in Dubai from 30 November to 12 December.
As an official COP28 partner, Majid Al Futtaim plans to utilise its regional leadership in sustainability to contribute to global discussions on climate change, with a particular focus on sustainable finance, food security, education, and decarbonisation.
Executives from the company will engage in conversations aimed at informing and encouraging action within the private sector, aligning with ongoing sustainability commitments.
Targeting net positivity by 2040
The company remains on track to achieve its goal of becoming net positive in carbon and water by 2040. Currently in the second phase of its sustainability journey, Majid Al Futtaim is actively working towards its 2028 Sustainable Business Commitments.
These commitments aim to positively impact climate resilience and inclusive economic development.
