Universal Music Japan (UMJ), a division of Universal Music Group (UMG), has officially unveiled the Universal Music Store Harajuku, a new concept retail store dedicated to music enthusiasts.
The four-story superstore, located in the vibrant Harajuku district of Tokyo, opened its doors to the public on Friday, 20 October 2023.
The Universal Music Store Harajuku is situated on Takeshita Street and aims to serve as a hub for fans and UMG artists from around the world to connect in the physical realm.
The store spans four carefully curated floors, featuring dedicated fan experiences, product launches and retail pop-up shops.
Additionally, it provides a platform for artists to showcase their creative vision and engage with their fans through original and bespoke programmes.

Inside the Universal Music Store Harajuku, visitors will find the Rs No 9 Harajuku flagship store, an offshoot of the London, England-based ‘RS No 9’ store, now launching its second global location.

The opening coincides with the release of “Hackney Diamonds,” The Rolling Stones’ first studio album in 18 years. The store also features exclusive original Japanese merchandise and products.
In a statement, The Rolling Stones expressed their excitement about bringing the RS No 9 brand to Japan and hoped their fans would enjoy the store’s offerings.
