French-based Auchan Retail has entered talks with Casino Group to form a strategic partnership for a joint purchasing agreement.
Under the terms of the deal, both the companies will mutually negotiate purchases with multi-national food and non-food suppliers in France and across the world.
The partnership will support the development of French suppliers of both the companies in countries across Eastern and Western Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Both groups will allow their current partners to join the newly formed alliance.
According to both groups, the strategic alliance values the interests of all stakeholders: consumers, farmers and manufacturers alike.
Last month, Casino Group’s subsidiary Monoprix has announced a partnership with Amazon to offer grocery items to Prime Now members in France.
