German supermarket chain Aldi is planning to expand its Instacart online grocery ordering and home delivery service to residents living in Chicagoland, Northwest Indiana and Rockford, US.
Aldi customers living in the region can purchase their products online and have them delivered by Instacart to their doorstep within a specified time period.
Since 1976, the retailer has established its footprint in the US retail segment by selling groceries and household items.
Aldi currently operates more than 1,750 in the US stores spread across 35 states.
Aldi US CEO Jason Hart said: “We are committed to saving people time and money, no matter how they shop for groceries.
“The response to our Instacart pilot in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles was overwhelmingly positive, and with nearly 200 Chicago-area stores, it only makes sense to bring online delivery to this major market.”
