UK-based retailer Debenhams has announced a partnership with French furniture and home décor brand Maisons du Monde to offer decorative items and small furnishings in selected stores.
The French furniture company has already established its presence in the UK market through its e-commerce platform.

Debenhams’ partnership with the French firm is said to be a part of the company’s redesigned strategy to offer customers curated brands, and expand its presence in the UK home-wares and furniture market.
Debenhams chief executive Sergio Bucher said: “As part of our Debenhams Redesigned Strategy, we are looking to work with strategic partners that can deliver new and complementary product offers for our customers.
“We are delighted that Maisons du Monde has chosen to work with us to launch physically into the UK. We believe that its fresh and differentiated ranges will reinforce Debenhams’ position as a major player in the UK homeware and furniture market under the leadership of our MD of fashion and home, Steven Cook.”
Maisons du Monde products will be available in Debenhams stores located in Westfield, Birmingham and Manchester.
Established in 1996 in France, Maisons du Monde has been offering a wide range of decoration and furniture collections that showcase multiple styles.
Currently, home-ware retailer operates its business using its international network of 313 stores, its e-commerce platform operating in 11 countries and several catalogues.
Maisons du Monde CEO Gilles Petit said: “We are pleased to announce a partnership with Debenhams to open three shop-in-shops in the UK, capitalising on a flexible and capital-light strategy to launch our physical development in this market to complement our online offer.
