Indonesian lifestyle retailer PT Map Aktif Adiperkasa (MAP) has contracted US-based supply chain management company Blue Yonder to optimise its business processes.
As part of the contract, MAP will implement Blue Yonder’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) based Luminate Planning solutions.
Blue Yonder said that its solutions will drive the retailer’s international expansion strategy, as well as standardise merchandise planning and execution processes for collaborative, artificial intelligence (AI) data-driven decisions.
The solution is designed to improve customer experiences by creating customer-centric, localised assortments while enabling automated, collaborative decision-making for employees.
With Luminate Planning solutions, MAP can use merchant intent, automate distributions and replenishment to increase productivity in combination with other retail planning solutions to maximise margins.
MAP Active vice-president director Nick Jones said: “To support the rapid international expansion, we were seeking an automated merchandise planning solution that could cover a variety of capabilities across financial forecasting, data management, allocation and replenishment, and assortment planning.

Based in Arizona, Blue Yonder provides management, manufacturing planning, retail planning, store operations and category management services.
The company will work with its consulting partner, Infosys, in implementing its solutions across MAP’s operations.
In October last year, UK-based supermarket chain Asda selected Blue Yonder to optimise its end-to-end supply chain and retail operations.
The retailer is using the SaaS capabilities offered by Blue Yonder’s Luminate Planning, Commerce, Logistics and Control Tower solutions.
