US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring declined 21.0% in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 18.56% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 29.73% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2022, and recorded a 0.42% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in September 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 82.36% in September 2022, and a 26.2% drop over August 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 9.51% in September 2022, and registered a decline of 17.49%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.42% in September 2022, a 37.93% drop from August 2022.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in September 2022 with a 66.08% share, which marked a 29.23% drop over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 16.24%, registering a 27.13% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 13.12% share and a 12.88% drop over August 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 2.36% and a month-on-month increase of 6.9%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 2.21%, registering an 11.54% rise over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 56.08% share in September 2022, a 30.42% decline over August 2022. India featured next with a 10.8% share, down 23.04% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 9.24% share, a decline of 21.61% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 46.92%, down by 26.98% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 35.02% share, a decline of 24.75% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 18.06% share, down 24.6% over August 2022.
