US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring declined 4.6% in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 6.8% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 30.18% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2022, and recorded a 1.43% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in July 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 83.83% in July 2022, and an 18.82% drop over June 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 9.31% in July 2022, and registered a decline of 35.03%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.26% in July 2022, a 36.27% drop from June 2022.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in July 2022 with a 68.97% share, which marked a 22.47% drop over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 16.85%, registering a 20.87% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with an 11% share and a 12.22% drop over June 2022.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.78% and a month-on-month decline of 2.74%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.41%, registering a 13.85% drop over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 61.66% share in July 2022, a 22.33% decline over June 2022. India featured next with an 11.25% share, down 23.94% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 6.85% share, a decline of 20.64% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 46.47%, down by 22.91% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 31.38% share, a decline of 25.77% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 22.09% share, down 6.28% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.05%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
