The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.13% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.1% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 1.48% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.52% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s retail industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Amazon posted 273 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 20.64% over the previous month, followed by Lululemon Athletica with 18 jobs and an 80% growth. Canadian Tire with 16 IT jobs and Loblaw Companies with 14 jobs, recorded a 52.94% decline and a 16.67% growth, respectively, while eBay recorded an increase of 80% with 9 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 42.74%, down by 32.6% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 38.83% share, registered a decline of 17.26% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 18.44% share, up 32% over June 2022.
