US-based supermarket chain Publix has partnered with grocery delivery and service provider Instacart to launch a 15-minute delivery service in Miami, Florida.
Powered by Instacart’s nano-fulfilment solution, Carrot Warehouses, the service will deliver fresh produce, pantry staples, household goods and more from Publix.
Customers in Miami’s Brickell, Coral Gables and Wynwood neighbourhoods can use the service through Publix’s mobile app and website, as well as the Instacart app and website.
Instacart product vice-president Daniel Danker said: “Instacart’s model is to empower retailers to better serve their customers.
“We’re taking the same approach by building Carrot Warehouses, a network of nano-fulfilment facilities that we operate on retailers’ behalf, to help retailers deliver unmatched speed and selection to their customers.
“We’re proud to be the platform that helps retailers offer the many use cases their consumers expect, from 15-minute delivery to the weekly shop.

“Whether it’s a last-minute dinner ingredient or parents needing a quick restock on diapers, we know Miamians seek convenience in their lives and we’re excited to collaborate with Publix to power it.”
Publix and Instacart started their partnership in 2016 with the launch of one-hour deliveries.
Publix has also collaborated with Instacart to offer additional services, including kerbside pick-up, delivery and collection of products such as alcohol and Publix’s signature Pub Subs.
Publix operates a network of 1,295 grocery stores across several states in the US’ south-east, including Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
Instacart recently partnered with Canadian family discount store Giant Tiger to launch a same-day delivery service in Canada.
The service allows customers to purchase items from more than 180 Giant Tiger stores across the country and have them delivered in a minimum of one hour.
