British supermarket chain Waitrose and food delivery company Deliveroo are set to extend their partnership to more than 70 additional Waitrose locations.
The expansion will bring the partnership to more than 220 Waitrose locations, which is equivalent to more than two-thirds of all the supermarket’s UK stores, later this year.
Through the partnership, Deliveroo customers can order Waitrose products for delivery in a minimum of 20 minutes.
The service will be made available in almost 30 new towns and cities, including Lewes, Cirencester and Newark.
Customers can order from up to 1,000 Waitrose products, including the retailer’s Essential and Premium Quality ranges, Waitrose No 1 and Waitrose Duchy Organic.
Waitrose said that the expansion comes in response to ‘strong’ grocery delivery demand from customers.

By GlobalDataWaitrose executive director James Bailey said: “Our partnership with Deliveroo shows the strong demand for Waitrose products and that this is one of the ways our customers want to shop with us.
“People’s plans change and the service ensures we are even more flexible around our customer’s lifestyle, giving them more freedom to be more spontaneous about what they eat or drink and when.”
Waitrose and Deliveroo announced their expansion after launching the partnership at 150 Waitrose shops last year.
The service was previously trialled at five sites in 2020.
Deliveroo UK and Ireland chief business officer Carlo Mocci said: “By expanding into these new locations, it will give our customers a greater choice of on-demand groceries and household essentials that can be delivered to their doors in as little as 20 minutes.”
In a separate development, Waitrose is testing a rapid delivery service, Deliveroo Hop, in Bermondsey, London.
The service delivers groceries in a minimum of ten minutes.
Last month, Deliveroo partnered with British high street retailer WHSmith to pilot rapid deliveries in the UK.
