French electrical retail company Fnac Darty has partnered with US-based technology giant Google to bolster its online retail services.
The move is part of the retailer’s aims to expedite its digital transformation, enhance innovation capabilities through data and improve its product offerings and services for customers.
The retailer will integrate Google’s Cloud Retail Search solution into its fnac.com and darty.com websites with the aim to enhance its online and mobile shopping experiences.
The solution is expected to streamline the process for customers to discover products on these sites.
Fnac Darty is claimed to have become France’s first retailer to implement the Google Cloud solution.
The retailer will also deploy Google’s data analytics, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) tools in an effort to improve its operational efficiency and customer experience.

By GlobalDataFnac Darty said its teams will benefit from Google training sessions to improve its digital and data culture, as well as support its wider use of AI to bring innovation to the market.
The company will conduct these innovation streams while migrating its data to Google’s Cloud infrastructure.

In a separate development, Fnac Darty has reported that its revenue for the fiscal year 2021 (FY21) grew by 7.4% to €8.04bn ($9.03bn) on a reported basis against 2020.
