US-based company Walmart’s IT hiring rose 21.6% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 8.81% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 2.91% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 0.63% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Walmart IT hiring in August 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Walmart, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 67.99% in August 2021, and a 3.67% rise over July 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 11.88% in August 2021, and registered growth of 3350%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.33% in August 2021, a 160.87% rise from July 2021.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 64.89% share in August 2021, a 14.51% decline over July 2021. India featured next with a 33.91% share, up 2714.29% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.2% share, an increase of 133.33% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead Walmart IT hiring activity in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.72%, up by 34.29% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.44% share, a decline of 4.05% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.12% share, up 231.25% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.72%, recording a month-on-month increase of 42.86%.
