Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 79.81% in June 2021, a 1.82% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 5.77% in June 2021, marking a 13.19% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 5.7% in June 2021, an 8.33% growth from May 2021.

Top five retail companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 4.46% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s retail industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Amazon posted 3,105 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a decline of 8.35% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 421 jobs and a 4.99% growth. CVS Health with 171 IT jobs and Chewy with 126 jobs, recorded a 1.79% growth and a 13.51% increase, respectively, while J Sainsbury recorded a 98.39% an increase with 123 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s retail industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 95.74% share in June 2021, a 3.64% decline over May 2021. Canada featured next with a 3.6% share, down 1.99% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.6% share, a growth of 50% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.53%, down by 25.17% from May 2021. Entry Level positions with a 23.38% share, a growth of 85.24% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 21.67% share, up 21.52% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.42%, recording a month-on-month growth of 155.56%.
