Hyperdome Mall in the Brisbane/Gold Coast growth corridor, Australia, was upgraded to transform it into a vibrant shopping destination for the visitors. The mall’s revamp was inspired by the evolving needs of the local community and the region.
Owned by QIC Global Real Estate (QICGRE), the mall in Queensland includes shopping facilities, restaurant, dining, and entertainment spaces. The A$60m ($45.37m) upgrade is a part of the shopping centre’s phased modernisation programme.
Hyperdome mall location
The shopping facility is located 20 minutes south of Brisbane in Loganholme, Queensland. It can be accessed directly from the M1 Motorway.
Hyperdome mall upgrade details
The mall upgrade revamped the interior design and expanded its product offering through the addition of new fashion and lifestyle brands. The interior design features vibrant colours and textures. The surrounding spaces are incorporated with neutral designs to highlight the mall’s retail offering.
The renovation focused on allowing natural light and created a lightweight ceiling canopy. The redesigned atrium resembles pergola-like ceilings and offers lush overhead greenery. New connections to the parking facilities were created. The new seating and planters complement the shopping facility’s landscape and play theme.
A new super-scaled bay window was created at the entrance. In addition, new public rooms and furniture elements were added.
The renovation project refurbished 12,000m² of retail space, added a new Woolworths store, spanning 3,600m², and delivered car park upgrades. It included the installation of a new roof and full-service upgrades. The Woolworths store was relocated to a refreshed space in the North Mall.
Other upgrades involved the creation of a new entryway, external awnings for weather protection and a walkway from the eastern and western car park areas. The mall will be installed with rooftop solar panels.
Additional green spaces
U Bowls and Fusion pots were installed to complement the design theme. Tropical species were used to plant garden beds and podiums.
The upgraded mall has artificial plants at the edges of the indoor structure. A play space was created near the east entrance with a miniature forest area equipped with stone paths, concrete tree stump steppers, and timber logs.

The mall has more than 180 retailers, with the new format tech-enabled Woolworths supermarket offering improved shopping experience for visitors.
