US-based omnichannel solutions provider NCR has secured a contract from an undisclosed chain with a network of 800 stores to provide its digital transformation platform.
The retailer will deploy NCR’s Outdoor Payment Terminals with an Interactive Consumer Experience (OPTIC) forecourt technology, which comprises payment and cloud services.
Operating on an open software platform, the solution allows NCR’s customers to digitally transform their forecourt.
Using the solution, clients can streamline deploying and managing outdoor payment terminals to provide personalised shopping experiences for their consumers.
NCR retail solutions vice-president and general manager Tom Chittenden said: “Convenience retailers have an untapped opportunity to convert consumers at the pump to in-store shoppers, driving both ancillary revenue and loyalty.
“Foodservice is a vital component of the convenience retailer’s business. Our goal is to help drive more offers at the pump and convert fuel-only customers inside the store with the OPTIC platform.”
