Amazon has agreed to delay its ‘Black Friday’ sales shopping day in France to 4 December.
The delay decision follows French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire’s call on supermarkets and online retailers to postpone the sale operations, reported Reuters.

The finance ministry reportedly revealed a one-week delay in Black Friday sales would help ‘ensure shops reopen in France under maximum safety conditions’.
Since 30 October, new lockdown measures are in place in metropolitan France and Martinique for four weeks.
The nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic is expected to last until 1 December. This means that all non-essential retailers will remain closed in the country.
Prior to the postponement, Black Friday discount shopping sales this year were supposed to run from 27 to 29 November.

By GlobalDataAmazon France chief executive Frederic Duval was quoted by Reuters as saying on TF1 television: “Today we have decided to delay the date of Black Friday if this can help shopkeepers reopen before 1 December.”
With the move, Amazon has joined other retailers including Carrefour, French retailer Leclerc, reported the news agency.
Besides France, England’s non-essential retail stores and hospitality venues are closed after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new lockdown, which started on 5 November and will end on 2 December.
Earlier this month, Amazon extended its ‘In-Garage Delivery’ service to Prime members in more than 4,000 US cities.
