The United States held a 20.8% share of the global consumer industry M&A deal value that totalled $7.44bn in February 2019.
In terms of deal activity, the United States recorded 83 deals during February 2019, marking a decrease of 2.4% over the previous month and a drop of 2.4% over the 12-month average.

The top five consumer industry M&A deals accounted for 79.1% of the overall value during February 2019.
The combined value of the top five consumer industry M&A deals stood at $1.22bn, against the overall value of $1.54bn recorded for the month. The top announced consumer industry M&A deal tracked by GlobalData in February 2019 was Host Hotels & Resorts’ $610m asset transaction with 1 Hotel South Beach.
In second place was the $432.24m acquisition of Clover Industries by MilcoProprietary Ltd and in third place was Bilgili Holding, Deutsche Finance America and SHVO’s $103m asset transaction with Dogus Holding and Tommy Hilfiger.
The $50m acquisition of Cott Beverages by Refresco Gerber and Tempur Sealy International’s asset transaction with Innovative Mattress Solutions for $26m held fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
