US-based online retailer Amazon has introduced its Launchpad platform in India to help start-ups to sell their products.
Enable start-ups to gain more visibility, the portal features products from more than 400 start-ups, 25 of which are India-based firms, reported mashable.com.
Introduced last year, Launchpad has assisted over 1,200 start-ups worldwide in selling their products.
This service is currently available in seven regions in India.
Amazon has partnered with Nasscom, Indian Angel Network and DIPP’s start-up India Initiative to help start-ups deal with policy and financial aspects, reported Forbesindia.com
Amazon India vice-president and country manager Amit Agarwal was quoted by the website as saying: “The idea is to encourage innovation in the country.

Even as these start-ups sell products through other channels, they rely on Amazon to gain visibility.
Amazon India expects several start-ups to utilise its platform in the future.
