Digital-first home goods retailer Wayfair plans to establish its second large format store in Atlanta in the US state of Georgia.

Anticipated to open in 2026, the 150,000ft² store will offer an extensive range of products including furniture, decor, kitchenware, appliances and home improvement items.

Aiming to merge the convenience of digital shopping with the benefits of a physical store, Wayfair will enable customers to purchase and immediately take away select items.

The Atlanta store will be situated in The District at Howell Mill, at 1801 Howell Mill Rd NW, providing easy access for residents and visitors from the wider Atlanta region.

The store’s strategic location near Wayfair’s McDonough fulfilment centre will facilitate delivery services for larger purchases such as furniture.

Wayfair merchandising and stores vice-president Liza Lefkowski stated: “At the heart of our retail strategy is our commitment to providing customers with a seamless shopping experience, whether online or in-store.

“We are thrilled to bring this one-of-a-kind shopping experience to the Atlanta metro area. We will offer customers an extensive selection for all styles and budgets, with our vast catalogue brought to life in an inspiring and easy-to-navigate shopping experience that makes discovering the perfect pieces effortless.”

The second store comes following the success of the brand’s inaugural large-format store which opened in Wilmette, Illinois in May 2024. The location recorded a significant uptick in sales from Illinois, surpassing national growth rates by more than 15%.

Lefkowski added: “The excitement around our first store in Wilmette exceeded expectations – from packed shopping carts in-store, to bus tours from neighbouring states. It’s been incredible to see the enthusiasm for Wayfair in person and we can’t wait to bring that same energy to Atlanta.”

Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, Wayfair recorded net revenue of $11.9bn for the year ended 31 December 2024.

In January 2025, Wayfair exited the German market, impacting hundreds of jobs in the country.
