
Japanese apparel giant Uniqlo has plans to open four new stores in Canada’s Ontario and Quebec in spring 2025.
The expansion follows strong customer support in Canada and will increase Uniqlo’s total number of stores in the country to 33.
The upcoming locations are Maple View Shopping Centre in Burlington and Union Station in Toronto, Ontario, Place Ste-Foy in Québec City and Galeries d’Anjou in Montréal, Québec.
The new stores will feature Uniqlo’s complete range of LifeWear clothing for all ages, including seasonal partnerships and the UT collection of graphic T-shirts.
Uniqlo Canada chief operating officer Yuya Tanahashi stated: “We are very grateful to our patrons in Canada and look forward to fostering more meaningful relationships with new customers. I am optimistic about our Canadian growth, and we look forward to bringing LifeWear to new markets.”
The outlets are part of Uniqlo’s global strategy, integrating in-store shopping experiences with the added convenience of its online store, uniqlo.com.
Uniqlo, a brand of Fast Retailing, operates 2,500 stores in Japan, Asia, Europe and North America.
In Canada, the retailer operates 29 locations and an online store. It plans 200 stores in North America by 2027.
Uniqlo is seeking new team members for its expanding operations. The brand plans to conduct career fairs to offer insights into the organisation and connect applicants with support representatives. During the quarter ending 24 November 2024, Uniqlo delivered a 9% revenue increase in Japan and 13.7% growth across its international operation. In September 2024, the brand announced plans to open two new stores in India in November.
